Description
Via delle Volte. Ferrara by Marina Usmanskaya.
Via delle Volte is located in the medieval center of Ferrara and takes its name from the numerous arches and suspended passages that cross it.
The impressive escape of arches rises especially in the 13th and 14th centuries, but the straight path of the road, which starts west along Via Capo delle Volte and ends in the east, joining the Blanket Street (although today the route is interrupted) goes back to The oldest urban development that crossed the then Po before defeating it in 1152. A time not long ago was also known as the way of the prostitutes, and some of them still refer to them. Today, however, his old function has remained nothing but a certain atmosphere still breathing. The road runs parallel to the most modern and busy via Ripagrande and via Carlo Mayr, and these are joined by many passages
Recently, the street has been restored in many of its stretches and is paved by a rustic cobblestone stone river, typical of the medieval city.

Marina Your use of sepia in this photo produces a great abstract of the so often seen "street scene of the old city" to make it fresh and interesting again! By actually removing the "charm of the many muted colors" (which by now is unfortunately a cliche) you force us to mentally produce those colors, and thus all feeling of cliche vanishes, and the work is new and interesting again!!
